Case Study
A Representative Engagement
This page is presented as a representative engagement, not a client endorsement. The client is not named.
Client situation
A fast-growing direct-sales company built its business on the Pillars platform and launched to the public with a new compensation plan, a new product line, and a field of leaders arriving from established companies with high expectations for their back office.
Operational challenge
The platform provided the essentials. What the company needed was everything on top of them: tools that told members where to put volume and why an order did or did not count, leader views that loaded quickly on large teams, a way for customer service to answer account questions accurately, executive visibility without an admin login, and a commission process the field could trust from the first payout. Several early tools were slow on large organizations or showed numbers that could not be traced, which is the fastest way to lose a field’s confidence.
Matt’s role
Matt designed, directed, validated, and delivered the company’s back-office system, owning requirements, business rules, release decisions, live verification, and the weekly commission audit. He worked directly with field leaders on design and rollout and with the platform vendor on engine questions.
Systems designed
- A company-owned data and intelligence layer beside the platform, mirroring members, orders, genealogy, recurring orders, and shipping, with consumer-safe views for every tool.
- Member tools: rank progress that shows where volume needs to go, fast-start tracking with a live deadline, a five-week volume window that explains why an older order no longer counts, pay-mechanics explainers, and team order and recurring-order visibility.
- A live team activity feed with one-tap, team-attributed follow-up, launched to the field with its leaders.
- Leadership and executive views: a keyed command center for master distributors, corporate inventory and demand panels, and finance-facing commission KPIs.
- Customer-service integration: a read-only, fully audited connection for an AI support agent, deterministic escalation rules, and order-confirmed and order-shipped messaging with correct consent handling.
- Operations: continuous reconciliation against the platform, monitoring with a single daily decision brief, and a weekly commission audit that reconciles every payout before release.
Designed dozens of field-facing tools, executive dashboards, and operational reports over the engagement.
Delivery method
Matt designs, directs, validates, and delivers advanced back-office systems using an AI-assisted development process. Rules were written down and tested against real engine output before screens were designed. Every figure was reconciled against the commission engine before release, and anything that could not be verified was labeled rather than guessed. Tools were instrumented from day one so adoption and reliability could be measured.
Types of outcomes
- Leader views that had struggled on large organizations became fast and dependable.
- Member-facing numbers reconciled against the commission engine, with the interface explaining why.
- Field questions that used to reach support were answered on the screen where they arose.
- Commission runs audited and reconciled before every release, with defects caught before they reached the field.
- Executives and master distributors saw the company story in one view.
What the engagement demonstrates
A capable platform becomes a company-specific operating system when the compensation plan, the field’s behavior, customer service, operations, and executive needs are designed together on one trusted data layer, by someone who has done the job.
Let’s look at your back office.
A consultation is a working conversation about your plan, your platform, and what your field and your team need next. No pitch deck.
